The game at Aldergrove could decide the final distribution of places in the standings. Alongside our game, fellow promotion contender Abbotsford Phoenix played against Abbotsford United C. If we had won against the Lowlanders and Phoenix had lost to their fellow citymen, our team would have been guaranteed a top three finish and the game the next day against Abbotsford United C would have been merely a formality. Considering the lack of players in our team and the game with a fundamental opponent the very next day, our guys immediately got down to business and by the 17th minute our team was winning 3:0.Then the team slowed down the momentum and pressure and allowed the opponent to win back two goals. We had to get back into the game and by the break our team was winning 4:2.
Another very important three points.
The nature of the game did not change in the second half of the game. Our guys also played very carefully, trying not to get injured or get a card. Maybe that's why the second half score was identical to the first 4:2. The overall result is 4:2 in our favor. After the game, we learned that our competitor beat Abbotsford United C with a minimal advantage of 1:0 and retained third place in the standings.
